Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results; we do not keep a separate log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained so it can be answered. We keep the message within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive routine technical information when a visitor loads a page:
- The date and time of each page request
- The requested pages and the time spent on them
- Your device type and operating system
- Your browser type and version
- A referring website, when one is supplied
- The Internet Protocol address used by the device
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. Together with analytics services, they help show aggregate traffic patterns, popular pages, and where visits end. A browser can refuse cookies, although doing so may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Sending a submitted search to the provider that handles it
- Maintaining site operation, speed, and security
- Finding technical faults and measuring performance
- Learning which pages are useful and which need improvement
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not compile, maintain, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The site explains how to approach the Hardeman County Sheriff, the combined clerk, Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry for records those offices maintain. Visitor data is not turned into a third-party dossier or consumer report, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy terms govern the information entered there, including retention and sharing choices beyond our control. Read the applicable provider policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Hardeman County offices, Texas agency systems, court portals, legal resources, or other services. Once you follow a link, the destination's privacy policy controls. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads. We do not control that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Information may still be disclosed to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and site performance
- Search partners that process a query submitted through their tool
- Advertising networks serving ads on site pages
- A government body or law-enforcement agency acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards protect the information we collect. No online system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Rights can vary by residence and applicable law. Texas government-held information is governed by the Texas Public Information Act, while criminal-history dissemination is addressed in Government Code Chapter 411. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request deletion of information connected to you
- Ask what personal information we retain about you
- Seek correction of inaccurate information
- Object to certain processing where the law provides that choice
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. A changed version becomes available on this page and carries a new effective date, so review it periodically for the current terms.
